We build on your real professional experience to develop a concrete service offer, practical client-acquisition approach, and clear next steps. You don’t need an existing business, client, or proposal.
BEHIND THE ADVICE
Built on commercial experience. Not just theory.
I built my career by creating my own opportunities.
I secured my first independent commercial contract through cold outreach.
Over the years, I went on to negotiate valuable commercial partnerships, generate substantial personal earnings through independent engagements, and serve as CEO and lead operator of a substantial real estate development project.
More recently, I've secured location-independent commercial engagements with international businesses through Upwork.
Different industries. Different acquisition channels. The same underlying skill: knowing how to position your capabilities, convince decision-makers of their value, and negotiate worthwhile commercial agreements.
That's the experience I bring to Independence Nation.
I don’t teach a guaranteed formula for independence. I bring firsthand commercial experience to the decisions you face as you prepare to offer your professional expertise independently.
The focus is on your expertise, the clients you could serve, and the practical commercial steps involved in making that transition.
Further details of relevant professional experience can be discussed during a private consultation, subject to confidentiality.

THE TRANSITION TO INDEPENDENT WORK
Being excellent at your profession doesn’t automatically make you excellent at selling your expertise.
You may be an exceptional developer, engineer, designer, consultant, accountant, or specialist in another field. You understand your work. You know how to deliver value.
But preparing to work independently introduces another set of challenges.
You need to decide which services you could offer, identify prospective clients, communicate the commercial value of your expertise, establish appropriate pricing, and prepare to turn conversations into worthwhile client engagements.
Those skills don’t automatically come with professional experience. Independence Nation exists to help bridge the gap between professional expertise and commercial execution.
01
Commercial Positioning
What exactly do you offer, who needs it, and why should they choose you?
02
Client Acquisition
How do you identify suitable clients, create relevant opportunities, and present your expertise convincingly?
03
Commercial Execution
How do you structure proposals, discuss pricing, negotiate terms, and pursue worthwhile engagements?
The objective is not simply to win work. It is to pursue worthwhile work on terms you understand.
COMMERCIAL JUDGMENT
Winning a client is only valuable when the engagement makes commercial sense.
An attractive project value doesn’t automatically mean an attractive business opportunity. A fixed-price engagement can become unprofitable when scope expands. A recurring client can become uneconomic when availability expectations exceed the agreed service. A substantial proposal can conceal unclear responsibilities, unfavorable payment terms, or unnecessary commercial exposure.
The objective is not simply to secure a contract. It is to understand what you are accepting and whether the opportunity makes commercial sense for you.
Illustrative example – not a client result.
Before accepting a fixed-fee consulting assignment
An experienced professional is offered a substantial fixed-fee consulting assignment.
Before accepting, important questions remain:
Are the scope, deliverables, and responsibilities clearly defined?
How much time and availability will the engagement require?
What happens if the client requests additional work?
When is payment due, and what conditions must be satisfied?
Does the engagement fit the professional’s goals, available time, and existing commitments?
The correct decision may be to accept, clarify, negotiate, restructure, or decline. The value lies in making that decision with better commercial information.
THE PRIVATE ENGAGEMENT
Two weeks. One commercial objective. Focused personal attention.
The Private Commercial Intensive is a concentrated one-on-one engagement built around your professional expertise and your preparation for independent client work.
We focus on developing one defined service offer, a practical approach to finding prospective clients, and an actionable commercial plan.
If you already have a relevant client opportunity, we can incorporate it into the work.
01 – Commercial Offer
Build a clearer, more compelling commercial offer.
Define the service you intend to offer, who could benefit from it, the problem you would solve, and why your professional expertise is relevant. Together, we’ll work through your ideal client, differentiation, positioning, proposed pricing, service scope, and commercial boundaries.
Your output
A documented commercial offer with a defined target buyer, value proposition, pricing rationale, scope, and delivery boundaries.
02 – Client Acquisition System
Develop a practical approach to finding your first clients.
Determine how to identify and reach suitable prospective clients based on your service, experience, target market, and circumstances. We’ll examine relevant acquisition channels, client-facing positioning, and how to approach prospective buyers. The work includes practical outreach or proposal materials that can be adapted and used in your own acquisition activities.
Your output
A focused client-acquisition approach, prioritizing an appropriate channel, together with one agreed client-facing outreach or proposal asset.
03 – Commercial Execution Plan
Prepare for the commercial decisions ahead.
Prepare to evaluate and pursue suitable client opportunities. If you already have a relevant prospect or proposal, we can apply the work directly to it. Otherwise, we’ll use your intended service and target clients to prepare for discovery conversations, proposals, pricing discussions, negotiation, and commercial decision-making. The objective is to give you clear next steps as you prepare to pursue independent client work.
Your output
A written commercial execution plan covering the agreed opportunity or objective, outstanding decisions, and next actions.
Applied work on your situation – not access to a library of generic advice.
A free 30-minute call to see if we’re a fit. No obligation to proceed.

IS THIS THE RIGHT FIT?
For experienced professionals ready to turn expertise into independent client work.
Whether your expertise is technical, creative, operational, financial, commercial, or advisory, preparing to work independently introduces important commercial questions.
What service could you offer? Who would benefit from it? How would you reach prospective clients? And how would you evaluate whether an engagement is commercially worthwhile?
This engagement may be right for you if:
You’re currently employed and have valuable professional expertise with credible evidence of competence.
You’re seriously preparing to pursue independent B2B client work and want to develop a clear commercial offer.
You want to learn how to position your expertise, identify prospective clients, approach opportunities, and prepare for commercial negotiations.
You have a concrete transition objective and are willing to execute the resulting plan yourself. An existing client or proposal is not required.
You can make the $5,000 USD investment without depending on an immediate financial return, and the potential economics of your intended service justify considering that investment.
This is not the right engagement if:
You’re seeking basic professional training, a guaranteed income opportunity, or someone to perform all client-acquisition activities for you.
You need specialist technical instruction rather than commercial advisory, or expect guaranteed contracts or financial results.
The common denominator isn’t your profession. It’s the commercial challenge you’re trying to solve.
Personal work. Direct accountability.
WORK DIRECTLY WITH THE FOUNDER
Fabian Weinberger
Founder, Independence Nation
My professional background spans entrepreneurship, commercial operations, business development, sales, and independent client engagements.
I’ve served as CEO and lead operator of a substantial real estate development project, independently negotiated valuable commercial partnerships, and secured international engagements through Upwork.
These experiences gave me firsthand exposure to the practical side of building business relationships, structuring commercial offers, negotiating terms, and understanding the economics behind an opportunity.
They also reinforced a principle that sits at the center of Independence Nation:
Securing an independent engagement and securing a commercially worthwhile engagement are not necessarily the same thing.
I work with experienced professionals across industries who are preparing to turn the expertise they’ve developed in their careers into independent client work.
My focus is helping them develop a credible offer, communicate its value, identify prospective clients, and prepare for the commercial decisions involved.
You bring the professional expertise. I bring the commercial perspective.
You work directly with me – not a substitute coach or an anonymous delivery team.

BEFORE WE SPEAK
A few practical questions.
Do I need an existing business?
No. The Private Commercial Intensive is primarily designed for experienced professionals who are currently employed and preparing to pursue independent B2B client work. You do not need an existing company, clients, or an established consulting practice. You should, however, have valuable professional expertise, a serious transition objective, and the willingness to implement the work yourself.
Do I need to leave my current job?
No. The engagement is designed to help you prepare for independent client work. You do not need to resign before participating. You remain responsible for complying with your employment agreement and any applicable professional obligations. The intensive does not provide employment-law advice.
Do I need a background in sales or business development?
No. The engagement is open to experienced professionals across industries. You may be a developer, designer, engineer, consultant, accountant, operations specialist, marketer, or another professional with valuable expertise. The relevant qualification is not your job title. You bring the expertise in your profession; Fabian brings experience in commercial positioning, client acquisition, negotiation, and evaluating engagements.
Do I need an active proposal or client opportunity?
No. We can develop a concrete service offer and initial client-acquisition approach based on your professional experience and intended clients. If you already have a relevant opportunity, we can incorporate it into the engagement within the agreed scope.
Is this specifically about Upwork?
No. Upwork may be relevant to your situation, but the intensive addresses your commercial offer, positioning, client-acquisition approach, and commercial execution. It is not an Upwork-only training program.
What makes this different from a course?
We work directly on your situation and produce agreed working documents. The fee is for focused personal work on a defined commercial objective – not access to introductory lessons or a content library.
Will you find clients or submit proposals for me?
No. The Client Acquisition System is a practical, defined acquisition approach and one agreed outreach or proposal asset. It does not include a CRM, automation infrastructure, managed prospecting, or done-for-you sales. You remain responsible for outreach, applications, client relationships, and execution.
Can you guarantee clients, contracts, or financial results?
No. Those outcomes depend on factors outside the engagement. The commitment is to the agreed work and deliverables, not a promised revenue outcome.
What is included between sessions?
Preparation, review of the agreed materials, and development of the defined outputs are included. The scope and communication arrangements are confirmed before payment. Unlimited messaging, revisions, and on-demand calls are not included.
What happens after the two weeks?
You leave with your Commercial Offer, Client Acquisition System, and Commercial Execution Plan. There is no automatic renewal, ongoing operational support, or ongoing coaching commitment. Additional work would require a separate agreement.
How do scope and payment work?
If there is a mutual fit, you receive a written scope and the applicable engagement terms. The fixed fee is $5,000 USD, payable before work begins.
What happens during the free intro call?
We’ll discuss your professional background, your goals for moving toward independent client work, and the commercial challenges you’re preparing to address. The purpose is to establish whether the Private Commercial Intensive is an appropriate fit. There is no obligation to proceed. We will also discuss the paid engagement where relevant. If I do not think it is a good fit, I will say so.
